Love INC is a non-profit, Christian organization that helps churches help people. Part of Love INC National, our Lorain County affiliate has been active for more than 30 years.

We currently have an opening for a People & Programs Manager. This is a part-time (20-22 hours/week) on-site role. We are looking for an individual experienced in volunteer management who is looking for a collaborative and caring place to live out his or her faith through serving God and loving people.

People and Programs Manager

Job Title:        People and Programs Manager for Love INC of Lorain County
Reports To:      Executive Director, Love INC of Lorain County

Office Location: Elyria, OH

Love In the Name of Christ of Lorain County (Love INC), is hiring a part-time People and Programs Manager. The person in this role recruits, trains, and works with volunteers from local churches. The People and Programs Manager also develops and manages key Love INC programs that mobilize church volunteers to serve people in need. This position is approximately 20-22 hours per week, Monday-Thursday daytime hours, in our Elyria office. 

A candidate who would fit well on our team:

  • Has experience working with volunteers and enjoys being able to match an individual's talents, interests, and experience to engage them in service to those in need and to the organization
  • Understands all aspects of program development from visioning to logistics to evaluation and has the skills to provide training and ongoing mentoring and encouragement
  • Is a skilled communicator, highly organized, and creative
  • Is very comfortable using and working in various computer programs and processes (Computer skills needed: word processing and spreadsheets, database, email marketing program, simple design program software) 
  • Is an active participant in a Christian church, believes in the Apostle's Creed, and is comfortable working with people from a variety of denominations and expressions of faith

Typical tasks include:

  • Leading and facilitating the volunteer journey with Love INC, including recruiting, onboarding, development, recognition, and retention of volunteers
  • Planning, leading, and evaluating volunteer training and events
  • Onboarding and providing ongoing development to key church liaisons
  • With the Connection Center Manager, developing and growing Gap Ministries (underserved areas of need) within churches
  • Collaborating with the Connection Manager and Executive Director on the development of Transformational Ministries (development classes for those in need)
