More than 35 years ago, Ed Seabold, a local businessman in Elyria, heard the call of the Lord telling him to give up his own plans to step into ministry. Inspired by Virgil Gulker’s vision shared on Moody Radio, Ed saw the needs of his community and felt a passion to unite local churches to help meet those needs. Beginning in June 1990 and starting with only 12 churches, Ed and a group of faithful men and women founded Love INC of Lorain County, one of the first Love INC affiliates in the nation. Ed stated, “We feel as though scriptures mandate the church to help the poor and the needy. We would like to equip the church to do that.” Thus, they set out on a mission to mobilize the body of Christ to help neighbors in Lorain County. Now more than 35 years later, Love INC is still operating and has expanded its reach to network with many more local churches to impact Lorain County with the love of Christ.
